Zones of Regulation with Our Developmental Educators
The Zones of Regulation is a simple, effective framework to help individuals understand and work with their emotions. It organises feelings into four colour-coded zones:

🔵 Blue Zone: Low energy (e.g., sad, tired, sick)
🟢 Green Zone: Calm and focused (ideal for learning and social interactions)
🟡 Yellow Zone: Heightened state (e.g., excited, anxious, frustrated)
🔴 Red Zone: Intense emotions (e.g., angry, overwhelmed, out of control)

How We Use It
Our Developmental Educators use this tool in sessions to support emotional awareness and self-regulation.

💡 Example in Practice:
Bluey sometimes feels overwhelmed during group activities. Together, we:
1️⃣ Identify: Support Bluey recognise their emotional state by pointing to a zone.
2️⃣ Explain: Discuss why they might be in that zone (e.g., “You might be in the Yellow Zone because there’s a lot of noise making you anxious.”).
3️⃣ Teach Strategies: Explore calming tools like deep breathing, sensory items, or visual timers.
4️⃣ Reinforce: Practice these strategies in real-life scenarios to build confidence and independence.

Why It’s Helpful
The Zones of Regulation support clients in:
✅ Understanding emotions.
✅ Learning how to self-regulate.
✅ Communicating feelings effectively.

Our team works collaboratively with clients to tailor this framework to their needs, ensuring they feel empowered every step of the way.

For a more cost-effective option, Ash provides Therapy Assistant services at $86.79/hour, offering quality support under Chloe’s expert guidance compared to a Developmental Educator rate of $193.99/hour.
