Support Work
What is Support Work?
Support Workers and Mentors are the heart and soul of our team at Zest Project Co, bringing warmth, care, and a touch of fun to everything they do. Support work involves providing assistance, care, and guidance to individuals who may require help with various aspects of their daily lives.
โ
Alongside personal care and everyday assistance, our support workers help people feel part of their communities. They can guide you in finding resources, join you in activities, and encourage connections with others. Whether it’s getting to appointments, attending social events, or simply building networks, their support makes it easier to be involved and included.โ
Support workers and mentors also focus on skill-building, tailoring their approach to match each person’s goals. With practical help and gentle guidance, they walk alongside individuals as they work towards the outcomes that matter most to them.โ
Our support workers can assist with: โ
-
Provide personal care – assist with showering, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.
-
Support daily living – help with household tasks like cleaning, laundry, shopping, and meal preparation.
-
Offer companionship – provide social and emotional support to reduce isolation.
-
Enable community access – accompany participants to appointments, activities, and social events.
-
Develop skills – support learning in areas like cooking, budgeting, transport, or routines.
-
Promote independence – encourage participants to do as much as possible for themselves.
-
Ensure safety and wellbeing – follow care plans, monitor changes, and respond to emergencies.โ
